Rebrand of a Ten-year-old company (pun intended)

Ten is a ten-year-old creative boutique agency with a diverse portfolio of projects and services. In the last three years of its operation, the team managed to extend the scope of work to new, innovative, and advanced projects that needed to be presented to potential and existing clients.
The old company website was tied to a Hungarian branch that it was no longer connected to and contained projects that were out of date and technologies that were no longer in use. The visual identity and social media presence were also dated or nonexistent, so it was decided that a whole new look had to be created to do justice to the legacy the agency had produced over the years.

What did we want to acchieve?

implement the new visual identity on a new website
create a social media presence to gain followers and present the new face of the company
present core values and services to existing and future clients
display the portfolio of various past projects
set up a channel to communicate with audience, such as blog page

Conveying the right message and values

Since the company barely had any digital presence-even though it is a digital agency-it was crucial to define the beliefs and principles under which the company and its employees operate. This was done through a series of internal and stakeholder workshops to determine what the name "Experience Ten" stands for, ultimately resulting in a string of adjectives that described the ‘vibe’ of the company.

After defining and redefining the narrative and writing it all down in a cohesive and structured manner with a clear information structure, it was time to wireframe it into a decent prototype. This desktop and mobile prototype was later used for testing.

Usability testing and other defining methods

To check if we made the right decisions regarding some design choices, we conducted multiple rounds of usability, A/B, and heat map testing. The results were then processed to determine which option of two (or sometimes three) performed best with the participants. The process was iterative and slow, so the defining stage took more than two months since all the work was done in addition to the regular agency work with clients.

The case studies

Since most of the agency’s work wasn’t represented online in any way, not even on social media, there was a need to produce numerous case studies. Agency work consists of immersive digital activation projects, simpler apps, interactive media ads, and social media, and all of these projects needed their space to shine on our website. Depending on the project and its complexity, we presented them with various levels of detail and visuals.

The final form

After months of designing and countless iterations, the new website was launched on April 18, 2023, alongside new social media pages to promote the rebrand. The design follows a newly created visual identity with a fiery red pop of color. There is a cool intro animation to represent all the aspects of the agency that were discussed and workshopped earlier. Clean design was enhanced with the circular motif that spreads throughout all digital presence. The typography reflects simple forms and images and was adjusted to suit the logo and circular motif better. It carries an important role since it was also used as a graphic element.

The nitty-gritty

Throughout this process, we as a team learned what we want to represent as a brand and how we want to present it. It was extremely important to convey this information correctly to existing and future clients. There is also a planned section for blog posts that will further showcase the talents and skills of our employees by sharing acquired knowledge and industry know-how. What we mastered in this project is how to collectively decide on design, copywriting, and many other questions since there was no client (because we were the clients). Working on this project was a challenging but gratifying process that taught us a lot about each other.Let me know if you’d like any further refinements!
